This training addresses the requirements that have been in place since 1 January 2009, and recently reconfirmed in the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Regulations 2017, around when a solar photovoltaic system can be installed without Development Approval.

This presentation is delivered by Mr Brendon Corby, who has worked in the construction industry for over 40 years. Brendon has experience in design, construction supervision, technical regulation, and as a building surveyor. Brendon’s experience, qualifications and skills as trainer underpin why we have invited Brendon to present this session, leveraging his extensive knowledge about roof construction and site safety to assist you to safely undertake solar array installation work.

There are four simple steps to accessing the video as follows: 

1. Create an AIBS account
2. Open AIBSTV page and log

4. Once payment has been made select the video Supplementary Solar Photovoltaic System Installer Training and press play.

At the end of the video you will need to complete a short quiz. Once you have achieved a quiz score of 100% a numbered certificate will be provided within a week of completion. Your name will also be listed on the AIBS website 'Solar Photovoltaic Panel Installers'. You can re-watch the video and re-do the quiz as many times as you need until 100% is achieved.
